If you work in dementia care, you’ll know that a favourite activity is completing a traditional saying: “A stitch in time saves….?” These sayings are known by everyone from a certain generation – though not always by the care partners!

These activity books work on the same principle, with a ‘just enough’ reading experience for anyone who is now struggling to read. There’s a little quiz for those who’d like to be tested, then a vibrant photograph illustrating each saying. It’s a chance for the older person to show off their knowledge and to chat about the pictures.

The first two books cover traditional ‘proverbs’ (not religious proverbs, but wise sayings):
