My privacy policy for unforgettablenotes.com (business name: The Book Next Door) is built around the fact that I personally don’t collect any information or personal data from you. If you visit, that’s lovely, but I don’t know who you are and won’t be following up in any way. I don’t track you. I don’t use any plug-ins that will give me more details. This site is simply ‘for your information’. It’s my billboard.
If you choose to sign up to my newsletter, I’ll ask for an email address and a first name, which would be saved through WordPoet, my WordPress email provider.
This is a WordPress.com site, and they do collect some details for their stats. They will see how many people visited and which countries they were from, and I can see that general information. If you choose to stay on this site, you need to be comfortable with that.
If you click through to Amazon, to see my books displayed there, then of course you are tracked through their systems. They don’t share that information with me. If you don’t want the algorithm to show you more dementia-friendly books, then use a private browser. If you go to Teachers Pay Teachers for the free download, they also have their own privacy policies. They don’t tell me who downloads the free product, and for paid products, they only share the username. If you go to any other links I share, like Dementia Associations, they have their own privacy policies.
This is the policy in more formal language, thanks to a Victorian Government template:
